Trodat and the environmentBruneau

More and more often, we are faced with the unfavorable condition of our environment by all kinds of rules, media and shocking events. That is why it is important that each one of us has to contribute to making our planet healthier again by for example using energy-efficient lamps or even by “environmental undertaking”. Before implementing the Kyoto Protocol, Trodat, the world market leader in stamps, already showed dedication to the environment in an era in which the environmental laws were not yet that strict. This dedication was shown by providing the necessary measures for making energy use as efficient as possible. Trodat also received the ISO- norm 14001 for maximum earning capacity. Trodat distinguishes oneself from its competitors by the longer life of its products. At least, this was the result of an investigation which was implemented by an external investigation firm “Lifetime test Diam-Consult”.

Trodat’s environmental policy is based on 4 categories:

  • The use of environmentally friendly raw material: harmful material such as zinc, lead, PVC etc. is avoided in stamp production. The suppliers are as well subject to continuous screening with regard to environmental protection and quality certification.
  • Economical energy use: the spurting machines are cooled with outside air and warmth is recovered from production to heat up the buildings. Furthermore, 1/3th of electricity is produced by sustainable energy.
  • Sustainable production: 80% of the overall production waste and 100% of the unused mechanical parts is recycled. Furthermore, barely 0,3 % of production is disapproved and the overall production process does not bring about sewage.
  • Less CO2 emission: since 2001, energy use by fossil fuels, natural gas and electricity has been reduced by which CO2 emission can be cut down considerably. Moreover, CO2 emission has reduced recently by using natural gas instead of oil fuel.

Trodat is an exemplary society that takes care of our environment in a responsible way in their production and their company policy.
